As part of Veterans Health Week the Welfare Team with the assistance of DVA conducted a Mystery Bus Tour. Once the bookings were open, it didn’t take long to fill the coach for this popular event. The coach departed the Sub-branch at 9.00am on Wednesday 26th September, with members asking the question – where are we going? The quick reply was “If we told you it wouldn’t be a surprise”.
As we travelled East then North we soon found ourselves travelling through the Swan Valley Vineyards – great looks like a winery for lunch – wrong, guess again. Shortly after as the coach pulled into Bullsbrook for a comfort stop and quiz, some of us now got the idea where we were heading. On board, the coach again and travelled on to stop at Bindoon for a late morning coffee, which saw a lot of members getting stuck into the cakes and pastries.
On board again still heading North to turn off to New Norcia to the Hotel for a stroll and yes another quiz. The lunch was excellent starting with soup followed with Fish, chips and salad, the fish was enough to put Ciccerellos to shame. The return trip was peaceful with another quiz this time about health and nutrition, just to keep everyone awake. All in all, it was a great day out – well done Welfare Team.
