To commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Beersheba Day the Victoria Park RSL Sub-Branch and the Kelmscott-Pinjarra 10th Light Horse Memorial troop have united to create an interactive public event.

Beersheba, a heavily fortified town 43kms from the Turkish bastion of Gaza, was the scene of an historic charge by the 4th Light Horse Brigade on 31 October 1917.

To commemorate this occasion members of both the Victoria Park RSL and the 10th Light Horse Memorial troop have organised a number of displays and horse riding reenactments to be shown at Playfield Park located behind the RSL Hall.

Members of the public can see:

  • A number of horse riding displays including a dummy run/charge.
  • Tent pegging display
  • World War I Military Display
  • Memorial Service

The Beersheba Memorial Service will take place at 3.35pm.
