PHOTO SOURCE: www.bgpa.wa.gov.au The Boer War Memorial Society of Western Australia (BWMS of WA-Inc) was raised as a community driven organisation in 2016 from the National Boer War Memorial Committee – WA branch. The purpose of the society being to raise funds for the development of a National Memorial to the Anglo Boer (South African) War (1899 – 1902) in Canberra. This aim was realised at the dedication of the memorial on 31 May 2017.
In 2018 the BWMS of WA-Inc will undertake public activities within the Perth area and at some regional centres. These will be promulgated using local community free-to-air media outlets or by direct invitation to individuals and/or organisations.
The first event of community significance will be: Boer War Commemoration and Reconciliation Service-2018
BWMS of WA-Inc is pleased to advise that the annual commemoration and reconciliation service will be held at the South African War Memorial in Kings Park on:
Sunday 27th May at 11.00 hrs.
2018 marks the 116th anniversary of the signing of the Vereeniging Peace Accords that brought that sad conflict to its close.
