RSLWA CEO Statement
Friday 10 nov 2017
RSLWA has highlighted the importance of supporting serving and ex-service personnel and their families during what is a difficult time due to the ongoing SAS Inquiry.
RSLWA Chief Executive Officer John McCourt said earlier today that, while public comment about the inquiry was understandable, the welfare of well-being of soldiers and their families was paramount.
“Serving and ex-service soldiers and their families have limited or no ability to defend themselves. As such RSLWA has been focusing in past weeks on close liaison with representatives of the SAS regiment including SAS Association,” Mr McCourt said.
He said it was important to remember that any inquiry maintains the presumption of innocence.
“RSLWA is not second-guessing the inquiry. Our main job is to go about our core business of supporting those who need assistance at this time.
That’s our job.
