Kwinana Remembrance Day

The Kwinana RSL Sub-Branch commemorated Remembrance Day with a Service at their local War Memorial in hot and difficult conditions to honour those servicemen and women who gave their lives in all conflicts especially WWI.

About 130 people were in attendance for the service which this year included a school choir from the Peter Carnley Anglican Community School who performed very well in the prevailing conditions.

A flyover from RAAF Pearce also added to the service this year.

Following the service the Honourable Roger Cook MLA, Member for Kwinana, Deputy Premier, officially opened the newly renovated Kwinana Sub-Branch.

The building extension and renovations were made possible by a grant from the Government of Western Australia Local Projects, Local Jobs initiative.

Planning is already underway at the Kwinana Sub-Branch for the 100th Anniversary of WWI Armistice which will occur on November 11, 2018.
