Peter Aspinall has served on the RSLWA Board since July 2008 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position. Peter is the immediate past president of the Albany RSL Sub-Branch and past president of the Albany Aero and Probus Albany Central Clubs.
Peter also was chair of the Albany Centenary of ANZAC Alliance from its inception till its dissolution in December 2012.
He was born in the United Kingdom and educated in Albany. In 1960, he was selected for entry into the Australian Army’s Officer Cadet School, at Portsea, and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery, initially posted to the 4th Field Regiment in Wacol, Queensland.
Then followed nearly 30 years of military service in a variety of regimental, staff and training postings. These included operational service in South Vietnam in 1966/67 as an artillery forward observer with the 5th and 6th Battalions, Royal Australian Regiment.
