Welfare Assistance

RSLWA Welfare provides a full range of welfare services to the veteran community including allied, currently serving members and their dependents.

Welfare can take a variety of forms, such as monetary payments, subsidies and vouchers, housing assistance, home and hospital visits.

Funds dispersed to members are sourced from Lotterywest and from fundraising and community donations. Assistance is available with but not limited to the following.

  • Emergency relief
  • Advocacy
  • Overseas Pension applications
  • Crisis counselling to point of referral
  • Financial assistance Referral to other services
  • Home and Hospital visits
  • General crisis assistance

All applications are treated in the strictest confidence with the Welfare Officer having complete autonomy in dispersing the funds. Applicants are required to provide proof of service, financial situation and quote or account from the service provider.

Rosalind Howat has worked at RSLWA for the last seven years assisting veterans and their dependents to maintain their quality of life and dignity. Rosalind has over 25 years' experience in the area of Community Services and has held positions for in both Government and not-for-profit organisations.

Where possible it is best to arrange a face to face appointment with the Welfare Officer at Level 3/66 St Georges Terrace, Perth. For regional members, assistance may be sought through the local Sub-Branches.
