THE POPPY APPEAL 2025

THE RED POPPY: A SYMBOL OF REMEMBRANCE

Since 1920, the red poppy has symbolised sacrifice and loss. Inspired by its growth on the First World War battlefields, this flower serves as a reminder of the bravery and losses endured during times of conflict. On Remembrance Day, we wear the poppy as a tribute to the courage and resilience of our veterans, ensuring that their memory lives on.

WHAT IS THE POPPY APPEAL

Dating back to 1923, the Poppy Appeal is RSL WA’s largest and longest-running fundraising campaign. Held annually in November, donations are collected in exchange for poppies or merchandise, which are proudly worn to honour those who have served.

Every donation helps RSL WA continue delivering life-changing support to veterans and their loved ones when they need it most.
