We welcome content submissions for our website news, events, social media, and publications like Listening Post and Sub-Branch Signal.

Content Selection Criteria

We review articles, images, videos, and similar content for publication based on the following criteria:

  • Content should be interesting, timely, and relevant.
  • Articles should be well-worded and copy-edited for accuracy.
  • Content that highlights positive work and events within our sub-branches and the veteran community.
  • Content related to historically significant events or important military anniversaries.
  • Submissions are encouraged to include high-quality, high-resolution photographs (at least 1MB in size).

For sub-branch events, please ensure you provide dates, times, location, organiser information, costs, website addresses, and any other relevant details.

Vietnam Veterans Days Services

Vietnam Veterans Day (18 August) recognises the invaluable contribution of Australians who served in the Vietnam War. Australia’s involvement in the war formally ended in 1973, making this – the 50th anniversary – a particularly important year to commemorate. More than 60,000 Australians served in Vietnam from 1962 to 1973, with some returning for humanitarian operations in 1975. Sadly, 523 died, some 3,000 were wounded, and – amidst strong anti-war sentiment – many who returned home were treated unfairly by some members of the community.

Be part of the journey! Stay connected with RSLWA, receiving timely announcements, news and events, as well as impactful initiatives and updates on our veterans’ support services.
