RSL WA is proud to announce a dynamic new partnership with Australia’s submarine company, ASC, through the Veteran Futures Partnership.
This collaborative initiative unites two organisations dedicated to empowering Western Australia’s defence veterans, their families and the broader community.
Stephen Barton, RSL WA CEO, said: “We are enormously grateful and appreciative of ASC’s vision and commitment to this partnership.
“This is a fantastic example of RSL WA and defence industry working together to support veterans and their families and showcasing the value veterans bring to the sector.”
RSL WA and ASC have launched the first of RSL WA's Veteran Futures Partnerships. These strategic partnerships are designed to create practical opportunities and offer significant enhancements to support for veterans and their families in Western Australia.
Two core delivery streams are central to the partnership: the Goldsworthy Veterans and Families Centre and RSL WA Workforce Connect.
The Goldsworthy Centre brings together services, wellbeing, advocacy, employment and community connection in one place and represents a significant extension of RSL WA’s services into the centre of service life in WA. ASC joins as a Founding Partner for the Goldsworthy Centre, supporting the transition services, community connection, vocational pathways and service delivery that the centre provides, and strengthening the community infrastructure around veterans and families in the Henderson and Rockingham defence corridor.
RSL WA Workforce Connect provides a direct collaboration to connect highly-skilled defence veterans with rewarding careers at ASC, featuring bespoke skills-translation and role-mapping support. The partnership will support direct engagement between veterans and ASC, including career events, application guidance, connections to employment opportunities, and helping veterans understand where their experience fits and preparing them for recruitment processes.
Danielle Bull, ASC Chief Capability Officer, said: “Veterans bring extraordinary skills, leadership and operational experience to Australia's defence industry, and ASC is proud to support initiatives that help service personnel and their families thrive beyond their military careers.
“Through this partnership with RSL WA, we're investing in practical programs that build stronger, more connected communities across Western Australia.”
Over the next 12 months, the organisations will share event, training and activity updates.
Veterans and family members can connect with RSL WA Workforce Connect at rslwaworkforceconnect.org.au for career support.
